As a teenager growing up Lay had a love for Hip Hop and R&B and a passion for entertainment. The introduction to DJing gave him the platform to do both. This concept enthused him in wanting to learn the art of DJing.
Lay spent countless hours as a teenager mixing, scratching, blending and mashing songs together until he got it right. He searched and listen to countless records trying to find the newest and greatest so he can share what he hears. It was only then he was able to showcase his love for Hip Hop and R&B music and his unique DJ skills by the way of mixtapes. Little did he know, the mixtapes he created ended up changing hands so fast that he became somewhat the face of Hip Hop and R&B in his hometown. These mixtapes opened doors for him to hold down residencies and guest appearances throughout Australia.
Lay got inspired by local talents such as DJ Fluke (7 Deadly Spins and Brooklyn Anthems), DJ Moto (Club Joint), DJ Peter Gunz (Street Dreams), DJ Tikelz (Quietstorm) and DJ
