From the peaks of the Alps to the heat of the booth, jkmclaren brings a high-altitude energy to the house scene. A self-proclaimed "mad skier" whose sound is deeply shaped by the mountains, his sets draw direct inspiration from the legendary après-ski culture of La Folie Douce in Val d'Isère. This alpine energy is fused with a lifelong education in the UK’s clubbing golden age inspired by the genre-defining sounds of Back to Basics, The Hacienda, and Cream.
After starting on vinyl in the early 90s, the turntables called again in 2020, reigniting a burning passion for the groove. Today, jkmclaren is a member of the Official Disco Squad and has two weekly residencies:
- Saturdays on NDC: "The Saturday Selection" (3–5 PM)
- Sundays on 4TheMusic: "Soulful Sunday Sessions” (4-6pm bi-weekly)
